In 2019, Dark Matter Coffee began having Halloween-themed events on Thursday nights throughout October. As a particularly special event, DMC held a night market called Nightmares and Nightwares, showcasing different vendors from the surrounding neighborhood. To promote their events, they reached out to me to illustrate a flyer.

Drawing from classic Halloween imagery, a witch's cauldron is used as the focus of this flyer, with its rim boiling over with some bizarre concoction of magical objects. The cauldron operates to draw the viewer in while smaller details allow them to linger and discover small details hidden across the page. Much of the style used here riffs on the engraving style of world-renowned French illustrator Gustav Dore. 

In addition to the flyer, I created social media images using the same artwork, adapting it to both Instagram and Facebook, outlets frequently used by Dark Matter Coffee.
