Full Bleed Zine is a horror zine based in Chicago. Its contents burst forth with musings about films, new and old, slasher and monster, aliens and kaiju. Did you hear about Alien Romulus? Editors Ed and Tony gave the newest addition to the Alien-iverse two thumbs up. They also write about music and video games, interview other horror connouisseur It's a lovely read, and I am glad to be a part of something made with a lot of love and passion.

So, The Gate. The Gate is a window into eternity, a fate we are all destined for. Carl Sagan once said we are made of "star stuff", and it is exctly that truth I want to convey. The masonry doorway, adorned with bird motifs, takes one  from the Earthly, terrestrial, and famililar to the Heavenly, celestial, unknown. This transition symbolizes death as our bodies return to the earth. After billions of years pass, we will not only become the trees and birds and other creatures but also become a part of the Sun. And in time the matter which makes up our bodies will become new stars and planets, our distant yet inevitable fate. And if we're lucky, we'll become new life elsewhere.

Have you ever stood at the edge of the Grand Canyon? That feeling of awe sweeps over you as you realize how small you are in the face of these enormous desert chasms. When the James Webb Space Telescope finally began operation back in 2022, its images stunned me in that same way, reigniting my passion for astronomy. The vast forms and sweeping movements it captures are lightyears away, testments in light of galactic movement spanning billions of years. This is our destiny:  to become the stars once again.
