When preparing a new release for their tabletop game King Arthur Pendragon RPG, Chaosium Inc. reached out in need of a set of interior illustrations. With my similar style to an artist from the game’s original 80s release, I set out to bring their fantasy vision to life
Founded in 1975, Chaosium Inc. is a US-based role-playing game company. One of the biggest names in the tabletop game industry, some of the most iconic of their releases include RuneQuest, Call of Cthulhu, and HeroQuest. It has been my pleasure to get to work on another of their incredible games, Pendragon RPG.
While working on an updated beginner's guide in the series, the Chasoium team wanted to invoke an old-school aesthtetic. They saw in my work a likeness to the art of Lisa Free, a fantasy illustrator who previously worked with Chaosium in the 80s. It was a natural fit.
In all, I made 11 illustrations, spanning a variety of size and thematic criteria.
The Pendragon Starter Set was since released in 2023 and can be found at a Renfaire book-seller or game store near you!
